Creating Public Space Out of Thin Air

The wooden cantilevered Spadina WaveDeck recently celebrated its opening in Sept 2008.  One of WaterFront Toronto’s first projects has turned out be a success by giving residents direct access to the Lake Ontario waterfront.  In the end there will be five of these WaveDeck segments with two more slated to open in the summer of 2009.  Here’s a slideshow for the project from an article by Adam Regn Arvidson in Metropolis Magazine.  And here are specs for the project.
